WHAT IS A COMPLICATION INSURANCE?

Insurances come in many forms, ranging from car insurance to life insurance! Complication insurance is a type of insurance policy that provides coverage for medical complications that may arise during or after a medical procedure. “Complications” refers to any adverse medical incidents that may occur as a result of a botched procedure, including infections, injuries, or other unexpected outcomes.

The goal of complication insurance is to protect people from having to pay a lot of money for medical issues that may come up after a procedure. In many cases, such complications can require additional medical treatment, hospitalization, and rehabilitation, which can be expensive and may not be covered by regular health insurance.

Complication insurance policies typically provide coverage for a range of medical procedures, such as surgeries, diagnostic tests, and treatments. The policies may also vary in terms of the types of complications that are covered and the amount of coverage provided.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Complication insurance works by providing financial protection in case a medical complication arises during or after a covered medical procedure. Here’s how it typically works:

• Purchasing the policy: Cavendish Health International Case Managers will purchase a complication insurance policy for you. The policy will specify the type of medical procedures that are covered, as well as the types of complications that are covered.

• Undergo the procedure: After we have purchased the policy for you, you will undergo the medical procedure that is covered. This could be a surgery, diagnostic test, or treatment.

• Experience a complication: If a complication arises during or after the procedure, you can file a claim with the policy and we will get an investigation about it and the insurance company will review the claim and determine the complication.

• Receive compensation: If the complication is covered under the policy, the insurance provider will pay out a predetermined amount of compensation to cover the costs of additional medical treatment, hospitalization, or rehabilitation that may be necessary as a result of the complication.

WHY DO WE PROVIDE COMPLICATION INSURANCE?

Additional financial protection: Even with regular health insurance, medical complications can be costly. Complication insurance gives you extra financial protection in case something goes wrong during or after a medical procedure that you didn’t expect.

Peace of mind: Knowing that you have additional insurance coverage in case of a complication can provide peace of mind, particularly if you are undergoing a complex or risky medical procedure.

Limited coverage under regular health insurance: Some health insurance policies may not cover all of the costs associated with a medical complication, or may have high deductibles or out-of-pocket expenses. Complication insurance can help cover these costs.

High-risk procedures: If you are undergoing a high-risk medical procedure, such as a major surgery, complication insurance can provide added protection in case something goes wrong.

It’s important to note that complication insurance is variable for everyone, depending on age, operation, and chronic diseases; this is why conditions will depend on your individual circumstances and medical profile.
